Audit Data analyses in unemployment insurance - State Secretariat for Economic Affairs

The Swiss Federal Audit Office (SFAO) is the supervisory body for the compensation fund in accordance with Article 118 of the Ordinance on Compulsory Unemployment Insurance and Benefits on Insolvency. In this role, and given the large volume of payments made by the unemployment insurance office (UI), the SFAO decided in 2017 to develop a range of data analyses. These analyses provide additional audit security for all the benefits paid out and reported in the consolidated annual financial statements for the compensation fund. They are also intended to identify those benefits that are at risk of being unlawful. The aim of this is to prevent payments being made in improper circumstances.

The Central Compensation Office (CCO) is the Confederation's central implementing body for first-pillar social security. It performs the tasks that must be carried out centrally by the first-pillar social security system and the loss-of-earnings compensation system. The CCO manages old-age and survivors' insurance (OASI) and disability insurance (DI) for insured persons living abroad. It administers the compensation fund for employees of the Federal Administration and institutions closely affiliated to the Confederation. Its tasks are organised into four groups of services.

Audit Granting of subsidies to private disability organisations - Federal Social Insurance Office

Disability insurance (IV) is a compulsory social insurance scheme designed to combat the consequences of disability. In addition to insurance benefits, IV pays subsidies to disability organisations. This is based on Article 74 and Article 75 of the Federal Act on Invalidity Insurance. The services covered by these subsidies range from advice to the production of specialist information and courses. Some fifty organisations share just over CHF 155 million per year. Most of them delegate the provision of services to hundreds of sub-contractors. The Federal Social Insurance Office (FSIO) is responsible for implementing this subsidy.
