Audit Supervision of private radio and television broadcasters - Federal Office of Communications

The Federal Office of Communications (OFCOM) is responsible for the financial and licensing supervision of private radio and television broadcasters with a licence. Most licensed broadcasters receive a share of the radio and television fee in order to fulfil the performance mandate set out in their licences. Since 2019, a total of around CHF 81 million has been paid out annually to private broadcasters. In addition, the private broadcasters received further subsidies of around CHF 7 million in 2022. Financial supervision is intended to ensure that the fee and other subsidies are used economically and in line with their intended purpose.

Audit Supervision audit - Swiss Federal Office of Energy, Federal Inspectorate for Heavy Current Installations

The supervisory and inspection area of the Federal Inspectorate for Heavy Current Installations (ESTI) covers all electrical installations and products outside the remit of the Federal Office of Transport (FOT). ESTI's tasks focus on the Swiss electricity grid with a total value of over CHF 21 billion, which was equivalent to just under 3% of Switzerland's GDP in 2022.

Audit Critical infrastructure protection – Supervision of water retaining facilities - Swiss Federal Office of Energy

There are risks associated with the operation of water retaining facilities. In Switzerland, a sound legal framework ensures the regulation and supervision of water retaining facilities and the clear allocation of responsibilities. The Federal Department of the Environment, Transport, Energy and Communications (DETEC) is responsible for ensuring that water retaining facilities achieve an accepted level of safety. DETEC delegated the operational technical safety supervision to the Swiss Federal Office of Energy (SFOE). Specifically, this task is performed by the Supervision of Dams Section, which is part of the Supervision and Safety Division.
