Audit Use of funds - Health Promotion Switzerland

The Health Insurance Act (HIA) stipulates that insurers must promote the prevention of illness. As a result, the insurers, together with the cantons, set up the Health Promotion Switzerland (HPS) foundation, which implements and supports health promotion and illness prevention measures throughout Switzerland. These are financed by health insurers through a levy of CHF 0.40 per month per insured person. In 2022, HPS had around CHF 42 million at its disposal. The Confederation is responsible for supervising the foundation.

Follow-up audit Implementation of key recommendations for the electronic patient record and current status - General Secretariat of the Federal Department of Home Affairs and Federal Office of Public Health

The Swiss Federal Audit Office (SFAO) conducted a follow-up audit on the implementation of recommendations at the Federal Department of Home Affairs (FDHA) and the Federal Office of Public Health (FOPH). These stem from the 2019 audit on the introduction of the electronic patient record (EPR). The majority of the recommendations focused on improvements in view of the planned introduction in April 2020. Since then, additional problems have arisen and existing ones have worsened. The main reason for this lies in the basic legal principles established around 10 years ago, such as the decentralised, private-sector organisation of the EPR. Due to this development, the recommendations from 2019 far from cover the current need for action to ensure the successful introduction and further development of the EPR.

Audit Monitoring system for medicines and vaccines - Swissmedic

In Switzerland, no therapeutic product may be distributed without authorisation. Authorisation is granted by Swissmedic, the Swiss Agency for Therapeutic Products. The institute monitors the safety of therapeutic products sold in Switzerland. Swissmedic relies on a monitoring system for medicines and vaccines known as "pharmacovigilance". This consists of collecting reports of adverse reactions (ARs) and incidents likely to have an impact on consumer health, then examining them in order to take any necessary safety measures.
